Duplicate row on insert 1

Dear Members,

Although it would very much depend on the application, can anybody inform me what is the usual (most often) course of action that is taken when an SQL Insert returns a -803 (duplicate row)?

Hi WW,
Most usual would be to abend. On occasions it will be OK to check for a -803 and continue, but usually in these circumstances you would find an existential check before hand. But not always!
