We have a very odd thing happening in our farm, perhaps some of you have seen this and know a way to clean it up.

We have a very large farm (>70 servers)all FR3, all recent current, up to date, etc...

Here's the deal... When Printer drivers are intruduced to any server in the farm manually, it makes multiple entries in the CMC under drivers. Gor example. Last night, we installed the hp deskjet 6127 drivers to about 10 servers manually (going into Control panel, printers, server properties, and adding the driver) We did this rather than installing on one server and then distributing just as a time saver as refreshing the entire print system takes some time.

Anyway.. the issu is that it showes up now three times in the CMC.. One server reported in as being the only server to have it, then another did the same, then lastly the farm recognized all of the servers had the driver and created another object in CMC indicating it on all servers. So now there are three entires in the CMC for the hp deskjet 6127.

Has anyone seen this and or know a way to merge this information in the datastore so that there are no more multiple entires?

Thanks in advance!

No rest for the Wicked.

Clearing the local host cache does not seem to clear it from the main datastore unfortunately.

No rest for the Wicked.

OK 1st update printer drivers at the server and farm level.

It might even be they are spelt different ?

[blue]Arguably the best cat skinner around ! [/blue]

Cheers
