Duplicate mail for users with an aliases

Hi all,

We are having a problem with mail users who have aliases. For some reasion, these users sometimes get duplicate copies of mail messages. The same user can get from 1 to as many as four copies of a message. This seem to be random. Message header ID's are identical.

Has anyone else seen this?

I have actually seen that problem before but never really figured out why.

I do have a suggestion though... If you are not using any of the real advanced features of sendmail, you might want to consider switching to qmail.

It is a little bit of a mission to get installed the first time (you will also need vpopmail) but once it is up it works the way it is supposed to work.

I work for a hosting company that provides webspace and email for domain owners, and we have had endless nightmares with sendmail from the beginning. Since switching to qmail I have had NO problems with the email and the tech-support calls have almost gone away entirely. (except for those users who dont know the significance of the caps-lock key... heh) [sig][/sig]
