Duplicate invoices and missing and missing HeaderSeqNumber

I currently have 4 duplicate invoices showing in my system , out of thos 4 :

1uplicate invoice numbers - No line items showing
2uplicate invoice numbers - One of the invoices has line items showing
3uplicate invoice numbers - One of the invoices has line items showing
4uplicate invoice numbers - No line items showing


I ran queries on ARN and ARO for these 4 invoice numbers.

As I suspected there are duplicate entries for each number in ARN.

In ARO , I have all the line detail items which i am not able to see when viewing the invoice through MAS , what i noticed however is for Invoice #1 and #4 , there is no value in the HeaderSeqNumber column

Invoice #2 and #3 have a value of "1" in the HeaderSeqNumber column

Is this value the reason why the links are not being made between my header and details ? and how could i fix this ...

Also im curious about the reason why the duplicate headers do not both link with the line items.

This is generally caused by a bad posting. The way MAS tells them apart is the header sequence number which is part of the key. It is not possible to have two records with same invoice number and sequence number. If you have four instances of the same invoice then it would be sequence 1, 2, 3 and 4. Generally you will have only one set of lines. Since ARO is a direct file just use DFDM and look up the invoice and see what sequence number it is linked to. You can then safety use DFDM to delete the other header records.

Note that situation that caused this most likely posted wrong numbers to the AR4. If you have 4 invoice headers in ARN then in AR4 the invoice balance will be 4 times what it should be. You will need to use DFDM to correct this.
