When I import another project into my current project, the ID numbers of the imported project import as well. This causes duplicate ID numbers and is especially confusing when importing a project in the middle of my master project. Further - I never know WHICH ID number the predessors are referring to.

Is there a way to renumber the IDs? Or perhaps there's another solution?

Any help would be appreciated.

The ID fields refer to tasks within their own sub-projects so that shouldn't be confusing.

If you still aren't clear, you might want to display the column Project. It will take up some screen real estate but it will show you which lines refer to which project files.

Thanks, PDQ-B. Displaying the "Project" column does help keep things in perspective.

In addition to importing activities into a master project, they and retaining their own original ID, I've found that a simple copy and paste lets the ID number remain sequentual in the master project, but as you might expect, some (not all) dates may need to be re-entered. I suspect that's due to the calendars and/or prior activitity links being different.

I'll see if I can find a way to carry over all of the data with the copy & paste.

Thanks for the help.
