Anyone knows why when I sort the order of the report by the field First Name, some of the first names will not show? For example, I've got two Karens and in the report, it will only show one Karen and not the other, have I forgotten to make changes in the properties? I've sorted and grouped the report by First Name Ascending.
However, when I sort by Person ID (which both Karens will have a unique number each), both of them will show up on the report.

Karen = Karen so the two different Karen's get grouped together instead of separated properly. You'll need to use the unique id to do this. Set the first sort to first name and then the grouping to unique id.

I've set the first sort/group to firstname ascending, but with the unique id, nothing happens either. do u mean change the property in the sorting and grouping box or writing the code:
me.grouplevel.groupon = false
me.grouplevel.uniqueid = 1??
thanks..

Change the properties in the sorting and grouping box. Joe Miller

it did not work, the field/expression is FirstName and the Sort Order is Ascending. Putting in the second one PersonID and sort order is Ascending (sort by two fields) did not work. Any other way?
Thanks.

Do you have a group header or group footer in FirstName? If so you need to move it to Person ID in order for it to work. Joe Miller

no, it has not worked, all the records does not appear at all when I change the group header to Person ID.

Can you send me a copy of your db so I can have a look? I'm missing something in this conversation. . .
