We've recently noticed a few users who's internal mail is hitting our external mailserver when it should not. For whatever reason, their domain in their e-mail address is getting duplicated and the servers think it is an external address.
For instance:
- UserA@domain.com sends e-mail to UserB@domain.com
- Receive the following message
<UserB@domain.domain.com>: host x.x.x.x[x.x.x.x] said: 501
This system is not configured to relay mail from
<UserA@domain.com> to <UserB@domain.domain.com> for
x.x.x.x (in reply to RCPT TO command)
-UserA checks his Sent Items and the address displays correctly.
Where is the extra 'domain.' coming from?
