Hi there I am looking through some records and trying to highlight some of the duplication errors, My major problem is that some of the duplication is not exactly the same so I would like to pick up all the fields that have say the first 15 characters the same!

My current data follows a file path and I dont want to pick up the first part of the file path just the name Newman, Does that make sense?

Record 1: P:\LMD\NA_Newman_squirellhill_NAC040564
Record 2: P:\LMD\NA_Neewman_squirellhill_NAC040564
Record 3: P:\LMD\NA_Nawman_squirellhill_NAC040564

Is there a simple way to do this?

Regards
Leith

How do you KNOW they are duplicates? It looks like the end of the code is an ID. Why not use that to create a group and then use group selection to identify those groups with a distinctcount of the field > 1? You can create a formula like this to group on:

stringvar array x := split({table.field},"_");
x[ubound(x)]
