Hello,

I have a printer that is duplicating every file that it outputs. I have tried lpadmin -x printername to delete the printer then I add it again but it still prints duplicate copies. If you have any ideas please let me know.

It appears that by default your system (or the application you use) sends two copies to print. If you are using the provided 'lp' command then you can specify the number of copies you want sent. The following is the syntax:

lp [-d printer_destination] [-n number_of_copies] [file(s) to print]

For more information check the man pages. Try this and let us know.

Regards.

Tom:

If this is an hp printer, check the printer menu from the fron panel - there is a setting there for copies=.

I totally forgot about the HPs. sunman is right, if you use HPs with the Jetadmin software you might also try checking the settings/configuraton in there as well.
