Hi

Do you know if an entire site is penalised (particularly on Google) if one of it's pages has duplicate content - or whether it is just that duplicate page that won't rank well?

not sure personally but why take the risk? Do you need to have a duplicate page?

If yes then you could always use your robots.txt file to exclude one of the duplicates from the SEs.

If google finds a duplicate page, one of the copies is index the other isn't.

So, you may want to deide which you want google to index, and which to "throw away," by using robots.txt

And you can be fairly sure that the one you want to appear in the results will be the one that gets filtered out.
