Dear Colleagues,

How can I create, duplicate, and/or allow for multiple colums with the same name in the same table in MS Access 2003?

Example, a table of bibliogpaphic information on books with the fields (i.e. columns names):

book title
isbn
subject
publisher
author
author
author
author
author
publication date

[this book has 5 authors, which is not uncommon for scholarly works]

Note, distinguishing the authors by using author1, author2, author3, etc., will not work for what I am doing, alas.

Please advise and thanks,

no two columns can be named the same, but your problem is one of table design, not column naming

multiple authors should be in a related one-to-many table
