Duplexing Issues For Autocreated Printers

I have three different models of HP Laserjet Printers that are autoconfigured when you log into Citrix that have duplexers on them. By default, the driver that installs for the printer does not have the duplexing option checked. The other problem I have is that IBM is hosting this site and I can't get to the desktop to set the duplexing option under the print driver. Is there a way that anyone knows of to make the default driver be configured with the duplexer being available by default? I tried to check the box and then log out and back in, but IBM has it set up to delete the printers when you log out, so when I log back in, I have to check duplexer as an options. Any help would be appreciated.

Try these, they may be WinFrame or Metaframe, but it could point you in the right direction.

Several series of HP LaserJet printer with the HP LaserJet 4 or 5 printer driver. HP 8000's, 4000's, and 4050's drivers are known to conflict with Microsoft's Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition and can cause (and have!) Blue Screens. Until HP comes out with TSE compatible drivers, many continue to setup those types of printers with the HP LaserJet 4 drivers.

Maybe a code needs to be added to the driver like:

The black-and-white Postscript printers generally understand the flag "-Z duplex" to mean "print double-sided". You can specify this flag explicitly to lpr or add it to the print command dialogs in various applications.

or

The UCSC installer will by default configure all clients to use the Generic Postscript Printer driver. This should allow printing to any Mac printer, but without access to special printer features (such as duplex, tray selection, etc.). If access to these special features is required, then users will need to verify that the drivers they want are installed on/known to the Citrix server and they must configure their Citrix client to request this driver

Duplicate an existing printer ('get.duplicate_printer'), you can use then 'get.set_printer_info' to change the required setting (Paper Bin, Print Quality, Duplex mode, ...).

I had this problem with an HP 4050TN.

I found that if you add the duplexer option in the created printer on the Citrix server and then remove the line that says 'autocreated printer on client X' that the printer will not disappear when the user logs out and when they log back in the settings will stay.
