Duplex Printing Page Order 2

Hi,

I am having difficulty getting the correct page sequence when using PCL commands to print duplex.

I am using pre-printed paper and want one page of text to print on the headed side and some other text to print on the reverse (blank) side.

In my file I am using the following PCL command to enable duplex:
<ESC>&l2S - enable duplex short edge

Using this command alone results in the 2nd page of my file being printed on the first (headed) side followed by the first page of the file 2nd side. This is the opposite of what I require.

I have also tried using the Duplex Page Side Selection commands:
<ESC>&a0G - Select next side
<ESC>&a1G - Select front side
<ESC>&a2G - Select back side

Only &a2G results in the first page of my file being printed first but then the second page is printed on a new physical page, therefore not duplex.

Obviously I could turn the paper over in the tray but then when not printing duplex it would be round the wrong way again.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly received.

Printer is a HP2605DTN.

There is no other solution. When printing in duplex, the back side is printed first, then the paper is turned over and the front side is printed, and the paper stacked front side down.

When printing in simplex, the front side is printed and the paper stacked front side down.

If you have control over it, you can logically switch which side is the front and which is the back. In other words, print the back side first, then the front side. That way, when the logical back side prints, it is the physical front, and vice versa. In this case though, the paper will be stacked back side down. This would not be a problem if you are printing single sheets, then removing them.

If you have a second input tray available, you could have the "flopped" stack reside there and only pull from that tray when printing duplex. You would need to lock out that tray so the printer wouldn't pull it in any other case.

It's no different than having a tray dedicated to check stock or whatever.
