I have two questions:

1) Is there anyway to select just some parts of my image or some layers to be in duotone mode? I want the background in monotone and place a text in the front with another color.

2) Why when I have a duotone file I cannot place it with it color in an Illustrator file??

Thanks,

When you save the eps file, choose DCS 2.0 with Spot Colors selected. Then you get some options as to what kind of preview you want. I always choose color composite, single file. They will all look low res on screen and when you print a composite. But when you print separations, it will be high resolution.

1) I already did this option and didn't work. When I tryed to place it in Illustrator came out grayscale.

2)After my image was in duotone mode was impossible to use the option DCS to save. I had only four options but not DCS. I tryed to save in DCS before, when was grayscale and then there was no Spot Colors and color composite options to choose. I am using the Photoshop 7.0. Then I put in duotone after just following the preferences options but when I placed into Illustator came out a very different color. I become really confused when I have to use the options given after you start saving. Seems to me that this option may work but having the Photoshop 7.0 do you kow step by step what I have to choose in the upcoming windows so I can give another try?

Thanks for you two for the help. I am trying hard to use you answers accordingly but maybe something is missing is missing in the middle.
