Another problem that has me stumped...

when I save my photo as a grayscale (under "Mode"), it's much "cleaner" looking (far less pixilated) than when I save as RGB or duotone. I want to add color using the duotone, but when I do, it's suddenly far more pixilated. I've tried all kinds of setting changes over the last few days, and have not been able to get around this problem.
I did tests with the printer to verify that it's not just my monitor...
Not sure why the images look so good as grayscale (although not as good as when using Quicktime Picture viewer), and then so much worse as soon as I try to add some color!

any ideas?

thank you!!!

Is your display set up for 24 or 32-bit color (or millions of colors)? If not, refer to your OS for instructions on how to do this.

Thanks blueark!

I changed the monitor settings. Also, I found out that I needed to resize the miniDV image to 640 x 480 pixels once it imports into photoshop. I also changed the resolution to 300. All of those things really helped.
