Have a problem that is driving me nuts. I'm using a Sprint Paantech PX-500 mobile broadband data card. In the card settings using the connection manager software from Sprint, I select file and printer sharing and use client for Microsoft networks. With out these I cannot see the server or other wworkstations once I connect using the Sprint card and then using a netgear VPN connection. When these two are enabled all is fine, but after I disconnect and then reconnect - nothing. The Sprint software shows them checked, however the DUN connection properties shows them unchecked, so I re-check them. After every disconnect, it resets back to unchecked. Sprint says it is not their problem. Any ideas?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Sprint software, or look for patches on their website. Sounds like a software problem to me, maybe not jiving with Windows or something...

Thanks for the suggestion Burt. I'll give it a try when I get in to work tomorrow. I'll post the results.

OK. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software with same results. What I have found out that works is if I disable the card in device manager and then enable it, it connects properly with the proper settings. Having to disable and enable every time I need to connnect is going to be a pain, but it works. Anyone have an idea how to get around having to do this. Is there some way to write a program to do this automatically with the click of an icon locacted on the desktop? A non-tech type is going to be the primary user andif I don't make it simple, he will be haivng to call me every time he needs to connect from the field.

Have you checked the website for patches, and explained your new workaround to Sprint? That's what I would do next, and I would tell them that I'm returning it if it cannot be resolved.
