DUN Error 20073

[UTTech]

I have a client running Windows 2000 Professional trying to dial into NT 4.0 Server SP6a from Sweden. During authentication, he gets disconnected.

In Event Viewer, I get the following error, "The following error occurred in the Point to Point Protocol module on port COM1. The PPP negotiation is not converging".

He was able to connect at home just a few days before. I looked it up in Microsoft Support but couldn't really find anything that helps. Please help!!

Sounds like between this and your other post there is a problem with the DUN on either your server or the client PC. Can anyone else dial in fine or do they have problems? James Collins

You said he could connect at home a few days before. Did this person recently go to Sweden? It could be a communications issue with the swedish phone companies. James Collins
