Hi All,
Unknowingly a file got deleted from the folder. I want to get it back. Is there a way to get back the deleted file.

Thanks a lot,
Kumari

Kumari, what OS is this exactly? There are several threads within tek-tips dealing with this scenario, so try a search for 'deleted file' or similar in this and other unix-related fora. There are several mentions of a pckage called 'coroner' (if I recall correctly), though I've never used it.

Of course, in a perfect world, you would have a recent backup from which to recover your file - do you? Also, from a systems management point-of-view, you need to know how an important (I assume) file got 'unknowingly' deleted in the first place and do something to prevent this happening again.
