Hi all,
I've got a 3904 that I just can't get to forward. I'm not worried about FNA or HUNT, just simple forwarding. I've done this a thousand time but this one has me frustrated.

Anything look wrong here?

Thanks,

Ed

Isn't FNA just for forward-no-answer? I just want to be able to forward on demand with the forward key.

Thanks,

Ed

fna is forward no answer so forget that. If external try cls cfxa. If internal what is the error

I'm not getting any errors, just a ring-no-answer. The forwarding just never happens.

Ed

Sorry, just to clarify.. I'm just trying to forward to an internal extension.

Thanks,

Ed

number needs to be marped to phne if you are not talking about the key 0 number

Key 0 is the only one I'm worried about.

Ed

When in doubt out and rebuild the phone. Make it like every other phone that works. Make sure it is not user error. Make sure you can forward your phone to the number.

Have you tried calling 2862 to see if someone answers it?

when you forward the phone, is the forward light lite?

Flashing is for programming the number steady is for forward call.

i still add fna to class, and make sure marp is turned on in your switch.. key 0 will forward, the others will not.. hard forward is a subset of forward no answer..

The mystery deepens..

I added FNA and now the set will forward. However, the set it is forwarding to is itself forwarding to VM (an ActiveVoice system). Since the first set does not have a mailbox the call is being defaulted to our attendant. Is it possible to do this kind of 'nested' forwarding? Set A forwards to set B which then forwards to its VM.?

Thanks,

Ed

in the cls of the target set, sfa allows secondary forwarding, sfd turns it off

FNA = Call Forward No Ans to the number AT FDN

CFW 16 2862 = When activated the phone will forward
calls to ext 2862

If you just want to Call Forward your phone to ext 2862, just hit the CFW KEY twice and it will ring on 2862. This is NOT CALL FORWARD NO ANSWER , This it a hard forward to ext 2862

Is this the only set built with this ext?. Although it says MARP, I have had cases where another set was built with the same number at a later date and that new set becomes the controlling unit (MARP) even though it is not. I have also seen cases where the order of the TN's (assuming that ext. is on multiple TN's)dictates which set actually does the forwarding.

That happens when MARP is not turned on in CDB.

I've asked a few questions and I still don't have any answers.

okay... Did you ever fix a problem and when you're done you're not sure what you did to fix it?

I out'ed the set and rebuilt it from scratch and now everything is working.

Thanks for all the help. Without access to resources like these I'm not sure how I would ever get this 'mystery machine' to work.
