I have a new HP dx5150. I need to have two video cards. This has an on board and I have tried a PCI card to no avail. Here's the breakdown, read carefully, I am quite knowledgeable but have reached an end.

What I have done:
- Tried several PCI video cards in all the PCI slots. Trident 3D cards. The cards all work alone in other machines.
- I have tried different brand
- The monitors have been used on all the cards, the monitors work fine.
- The PCI card monitor shows No Sync (No signal) messages
- I have disabled Multi mode on the onboard video in BIOS
- I have switched the load method to PCI first and onboard first, nothing works.
- The drivers for the cards are fine.
- In Windows it shows the card with a warning that it could not start the device. For all second cards, for all PCI slots.

It is NOT the motherboard, memory or other crazy theories I have read on this. If you do not know, then please dont reply.

I think, fom what I read, the video card has to be an ATI chipset. The cards I am using are not.

I'll try that. Teaches me buying a cheap HP and trying to use it for more than email.
