Dual Quad Core Processors and XP

Hi,

I am working on a system that will be upgraded to have Dual-Quad core Xeon processors and I am wondering if Windows XP can support this. Depending on which online resource you read, some say yes, others no.

Is there any good reference material out there that discusses Multicore/Multi Processor Systems and Windows compatability?

well Dell are shipping dual quad Xeon systems with XP pro:-

XP Pro supports two SOCKETS per machine... this means it will support up to 8 CORES (at present)...
