Hi Guys:
I have a bit of a situation that I need your vast knowledgeable help with. I have a IBM e-series x 225 server that has a dual xeon processor motherboard in it, but only a single 2.4mhz processor in it and running windows 2000 server sp4.
My question is, "Is there a way to add a second processor to the unit without having to reinstall OS from scratch?"
I currently use this machine as my mailserver which runs Lotus Notes and Domino Server and did not want to have to reload that software as well. Someone had mentioned to me that I might be able to do a repair install after installing the 2nd processor on the machine and that might do it but was not sure so now I am here.
Any info you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Kevin
