I am using a Dual Processing machine(pc) and am not getting the kind of perfomance i was expecting. I can run down more specs if needed but my main question to U'all is: is there a render setting im missing to take full advantage of the dual processors?

Not as far as I know anyway... can't recall having to set anything up in AE. I run Windows 2000 Pro, so I normally use the Performance section of the TaskManager to watch both processors blast through those renders. Do you run Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000 Pro? I don't know if XP Pro has the equivalent to the TaskManager but maybe there's another way in there to determine if you're using all your grunt...? Also, I just installed the learning edition of Lightwave 3D which started blasting on both barrels with no set-up required.
Do you use any other program written for Dual Processors? Do both show up in the start-up Bios or in your komputer profile? What version of AE are you using?

hansen, the short answer to your question is "no." I know of no setting in this application that gives a flying frijole about the hardware, outside of camera interfaces. I can see no reason for any such control, either.

A lot of factors can drive the performance speed of your machine. A lot. But in this case, it's probably not a bad thing to assume After Effects is using whatever it can.

Of course, then there's expectations, too. But that's a wetware problem.
