We are about ready to install a shortel running 13.1 with approx 50 phones. This will be in a vlan configuration on the customers existing network. The shortel will be on the 192.168.210 network while the data is on 192.168.200 0/24 network. The customer has multiple gateways so they were not wanting to use a router to go between these networks. Is it possible to add a second nic in the shortel server and assign in to the data network and will communicator work over it.

No, The Shoretel server uses a single IP address for registration and communication with the phones, switches and communicator client. If they want to use communicator or even to be able to manage the system effectively they need to have access to/from both networks.

thanks for your reply, i don't know if it matters or not but the phone vlan will all be statically assigned, even the phones. will the communicator client point to a domain name? and if so can the domain name be registered to the data vlans nic? the customer is really not wanting to use a router between the 2 networks. i just wanted to double check before i go back to them.

thanks alot.

You can use a DNS name for the Shoretel server, but that still would point to an IP in the voice vlan where the server is.
