Dual NICs in a WK2 AS

I have two NICs in a computer running WK2 Advance Server. Both NICs are COMPAQ 3122s. One NIC is for my DSL line and the other is for the internal network. Due to one being for DSL, they each have a different IP, GW, etc. If both cards are enabled, in about 3 - 4 hours, the internal NIC overrides the DSL NIC and fouls it up. I have to keep the internal NIC disable in order for the DSL NIC to work properly.

Any ideas on how to fix the problem?
