Dual NICs - Fault Tolerant - 1 is 100 and other is GB

I have a limited number of gigabite ports available. With my fault tolerant settings on some servers we have 1 nic set up for 100 and the other for GB. Will that have any effect on failover, and if one port does fail will it switch to GB if it were running at 100 before?
