I have a Poweredge 4300 with dual nic cards. One of the nic cards has been disabled. I was told that it was disabled because with both of them running it bogged down the server. I would have thought that it would be just the oppisite. Just wondering if someone could give me an opinon or facts on which might be true.

If you have a switch that supports it (most do), you can use the two NICs to set up adapter teaming. This essentially makes the two act as one (with only one IP) for load balancing or fault tolerance.

Go into the Control Panel and open the Intel PROSet II software. The help section will tell you everything you need to know.
