Can you add dual monitors to an NT 4.0 workstation? i read it takes 2 video cards but I wasn't sure about the process.

Can't see why you can't just install the drivers for 2 cards - but so long since I ran an NT machine....

I was never able to get 2 video cards to work with NT 4.0 workstation. I don't believe it is a problem with the drivers as much as the OS just does not handle the idea. I have not tried it recently but when I was attempting to I could get one card or the other to work but not both at the same time. Is an upgrade to 2000 possible?

If you choose to battle wits with the witless be prepared to lose.

No it's not possible to run dual monitors on NT4, if you remember dual monitor support came out afterwards (95?? 2000??)

SimonD.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Agree with SimonDavies, you cannot use separate video cards, however, you can get a dual- (or multiple-) port video card with manufacturer-supplied NT4 drivers and it will work.
I have used Appian Geronimo and Matrox Millenium G400 with NT4 without any issues.

BOKA hit it on the head. I have 10 users on NT 4 that use dual monitors. The dual monitor card I use is the Matrox G450, cost about $100 out the door. The only issue I have is that sometimes the 2nd monitor goes blank for no reason, or maybe the user changed the settings, and I have to re-install the drivers. But other than that, they work great. You can't use windows display properties, have to use Matrox version.
