I have win xp home & win 2000, i'm trying to install them onto 1 disk on a laptop but with 2 partitions, after installing both 2000 works fine but XP errors as it cant find a file.

Are there any issues with these O/S, can't they work as dual boot? or am i doing it wrong?

Did you install 2000 first? If so run a repair from the xp cd.

Ash.

Have to run XP first as it's a auto-install cd, then I ran the 2000 setup with XP on C: and 2000 on D:

You always should do it the oldest version first, stick in the XP cd and run a quick repair it'll replace the boot files with the XP ones.

Ash.

I installed XP then 2000, this led to XP failing to load, then i re-installed XP, this made 2000 fail to wrok, any ideas?

What error are you getting when trying to load 2000 now?

Ash.
