Hey everybody,
I want to dual boot win2k and windows 98. i want to use partition magig or something like that do do the job. I dont want to have to reinstall windows and do fdisk and that kind of crap, i just want to use partition magic to resize my partions and stuff. I want to put 1gig to 98, and 2 gigs to 2k. Is there any way to make the computer ato boot to 98, and the only way to have it boot to 2k, is by holding down a special key or something? Please post all of the tips you can give me on this subject.

-Skyler

You can use BootMagic, which is part of Partition Magic to boot 98 automatically. Also, when using Partition Magic to modify the partitions, you may want to create two primary partitions, one for 98 and the other for W2k. That way, using BootMagic you can hide one partition from the other.

Doug
dxd_2000@yahoo.com

um, well for starters use Partition Magic to make the partitions to start with, have Win98 already installed leave the other partition empty, when poping in the Win2k CD, say yes to upgrade, do a custom, find one of the advanced settings, and chose, "allow me to chose which partition to install to" during the setup in dos-like mode, it'll ask you which partition to use, chose the blank one, and it'll say to format it, then I belive it'll ask wheter you want a Fat(Fat32) partition or a NTFS, this doesnt really matter, it depends on what you plan to do with win2k, in any case, when the install is done, you'll find Microsoft Windows, and microsoft Windows 2000 on the NT's Bootloader, when logged into Win2k, in the control pannel I belive under System, you can change the default OS that boots up.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
