I have a P4 configurred as a dual boot system. Single drive, two partitions. Windows 2Kpro and XP. I installed w2k recovery console and now the bott sequence will not boot XP.
The following message appears.

A file \windows\system32\config\systemd is corrupt or missing, please run setup and choose "r" to repair the problem.

Has anyone ever had this problem?

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

thank you

run setup like it says, load in with it and type chkdsk, then try sfc/scannow and see if that fixes your problem. Might not as Ive never seen this error but I thought id give it a shot.

You may need to reinstate the xp boot loader files ntldr and ntdetect.com to enable XP to boot. They're on the XP install CD in \i386.
