I am using "System commander" to try and partion a 30 gb laptop drive into 7gig SCO Unix and the rest Win XP. No matter what order I install them or wheather the partion is for SCO is at the beginning of the drive or end, I end up with these two problems. If I install windows first, SCO will render it unusable, even though I use customise to ensure it is confined to the 7gb partion. If I install XP after SCO, Windows makes its boot partion D:. which does not allow me to install System Commander to even see if Unix is still bootable. How can I prevent SCO from destroying windows ? Any help appreciatted.

If you use fdisk after installing XP and mark the SCO partition "active", does SCO boot?

Annihilannic.

Just finished creating a dell c640 laptop with

sco 5.0.7
windows 2000
redhat linux 9

as a triple boot setup.

I installed sco first, then W2K. (xp should be similar)
I could have stopped there and just made the sco partition active, so at the boot: prompt you would either hit enter to go into sco or type in bootos 4 to go into windows.
I installed redhat for another application option and since it installs "grub" I am using it to select which os to boot.

I also created a fat16 partition for transferring files between the os's.

I can install both OS's and make it a dual boot by doing the bootos command at the boot: prompt. By doing this though, XP makes my root disk drive e:. This does not allow me to install some programs at all because they all have to install on the default drive c:. Can I change my boot drive letter in XP ?

tried changing the drive letter, XP just doesnt boot now.
