dtv dsl won't reissue IP address

After swithching from a T-1 line to DTV DSL, for the proxy, the Gateway will not renew the IP address and loses Internet connectivity. IPCONFIG /renew won't work. I have to reboot the system about once per day. Any Ideas, other than requesting a static IP address?

Hi Techrex,

You are probably saving a substantial amount of money by having switched from the T1 to DSL, but keep in mind that DSL can not be treated as a mission critical service, as opposed to a T1.

I recommend getting the static IP address. It will make things easier and should still cost less that a T1 line.

Thats what I ended up having to do after all. Turns out the 3com nic needed some patch... decided to go static
