Hey all,

I am having a little bit of trouble in getting DTS to send an email.

Here is the scenario - if i have outlook closed, send an email nothing.

If i open outlook - still nothing.

If i then send an email with outlook open - suddenly all the emails sent appear.

Any ideas?

Using outlook 2003 and SQL server 2000.

Are you using Exchange or POP3?

Log into the server with the same username and password that the SQL Server is running under. Is cashed mode enabled in Outlook? Is it set to go online automatically?

-Yes it is

Is cashed mode enabled in Outlook?
Yes it is - is it supposed to be? If not how do i turn it off?

Is it set to go online automatically?
As soon as i open outlook it is online - i presume this is what your asking.

Thanks for your help

Having cashed mode enabled can cause problems. It's in the options some where. I can't remember just where.

Mr Denny,

You hit the nail on the head - removed Cached mode, and it works fine.

Plank,

Can you let me know where the cached mode is in outlook - can't seem to find it!

Thanks,

M.

Tools>email accounts>view/change

Select your account

Hit change.

Just under where it says your exchange server name, there is an option for cached mode.
