Hello,

I am using a DTS to pump data to excel and am having problems with data that is of varchar datatype. The data goes into excel with a single quote in front of it. For example, 'name. How to I get rid of these single quotes?

I am using SQL server 2000 and am dropping a table and recreating it in excel.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

As part of defining the export of the data to a text file, you are able to specify if text fields are enclosed in single quotes, double quotes or nothing. This is done in the field format of the destination excel worksheet.

Thanks

Hello JayKusch,

Thanks for the reply. Where do you go to specify how the text fields are enclosed. I right click on the cells, go to format cells, and use text category but I do not see an option for how the data is enclosed. Where should I see this option?

Thanks,
