DTS Package Transformations (Field Link)Question

Hi,

I created a DTS Package. I would like transformation for a source table field: FAX_NUMBER(15) WITH A destination table field FAXNUMBER(50). How to create the link or transformation from the source field to destination field.

Its not creating automatically because of the different field names or different widths? Can we make it manually?

double click the transform data task then on the destination tab click the create button and rename the filed as you want with the datatype and size you want.

Or the case is, that you have the destination table already. If it's a new field after the creation of the package, new transformation won't be automatically generated. You go to the Transformation task, click the source and target fields and click New, choose Copy column.
