I have a DTS Package that runs on a schedule. The package seems to run and my export files are created. However the job reports failure everyday. Here is the error log. TIA Craig...

Executed as user: GTIDOMAIN\MSSQLUser. ...t: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 1000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 1000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 2000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 2000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 3000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 3000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 3628 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 3628 DTSRun OnFinish: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1 DTSRun OnStart: DTSStep_DTSActiveScriptTask_1 DTSRun OnFinish: DTSStep_DTSActiveScriptTask_1 DTSRun OnStart: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_2 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_2; 1000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 1000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpT... Process Exit Code 1. The step failed.

I did not write the package but will be glad to provide additional info if need.

Hi jcglenn,

Have you got package logging turned on - that will give much more detail as to what part is failing. Assuming you're on SQL 2000?

If you're not sure, open the package in DTS designer, click on "package" then "properties", then the "logging" tab. This will point you to the file you're logging to, or if it is blank, give it a file and path, run the package and check the error file. If you can't work it out, post the results here, along with what the package is doing.

Cheers,

M.

Thanks M,

I saw that in another post yesterday so I turned it on. Checked the log this morning and sure enough The last step is send mail and I was getting a mapi error.

Thanks again for your help.

Craig
