Is't the DTS package running on any SQL Server 2000 takes the SQL Server memory or O/S memory?
Please let me know.

DTS is really just a fancy OLE/DB client it runs in the server memory except for tasks which are running code in sql server, like queries, stored procs, etc.

Umm, why do you care?

In our retail business environment all the DTS packages are sitting on one server as central repository where data's are moving among different applications.
Some DTS packages are such Export/Import,ActiveX script & VB Script.

We have configured as fixed memory for SQL Server on that box as COM object is sitting on the same server which runs on O/S memory.

Question: Aren't the Active X script & VB Script take the SQL Server memory or O/S memory

Please let me know.
I will definitely let you know,if you any more queries.
