Hi All,
we've just a problem if we try to start a DTS-Packet as Background Job locally on the DB-Server. We could not get a connect.
Clustername and Hostname are different.
If we start it from a foreign PC it works fine.
Somebody told us that it has to do with the variable @@servername, which is different, because it takes the real servername instead of the Cluster-name.
Does anyone have a solution or workaround for such a problem ?

If you are using the Windows Cluster Name ... that will not work. You need to be addressing the "Virtual Server Name" you have set up for your SQL Server Cluster which lays on top of you OS cluster installation.

Thanks

Hi,

we just use this cluster name. We figured out that the job inside the job agent has the physical servername included. The logical (Cluster) name is different from that.
Could we change the agent adressing ?
