Here's my problem.

I have created a DTS package to import a dbf file in to a table. When I first create the DTS and the job to automatically run the DTS package, it imports just fine, no problems. When I run the DTS package manually, it works just fine, but when the automatic job kicks off, it returns an error that the path of the file is not a valid path to make sure that the path is spelled correctly and that I am connected to the server on which the file resides. I am definately connected to the server and the path is spelled correctly.

Any help here? I haven't a clue :)

Thanks for any help!!!

When you run a DTS package as a Job the authorities and file accesses of the Job Agent are used, not yours.

To be absolutelly sure of that please go to the Server console, and MANUALLY execute the job there to see if it works.

If it does, it is still possible that the problem is related to authorities. To test that please change the owner of the job to be SA, and then try it again.

Thanks for the prompt reply. When I run the job manually from the console, it does not work as intended, returning the same error as it does when it is executed automatically at the scheduled time.
