DTS Export text file on server 1

Hello everyone,

I used the wizard to export data from a table to a text file. I have given the path for text file as C:\testwrite.txt

It works fine, but the file is created on my local machine, how do I specify the path so that it is saved on the database server?

need to create the share on the database server and then use the following ...

\\MyDatabaseServer\MyShareName\testwrite.txt

May need to do this from w/in a DTS package

Or change the package properties while logged onto the server itself. When doing from the admin console installed on your PC, all of the file locations are on your PC. Doing it from the server's console, all file locations are on the server. I hope that makes sense.
