DTS Data Copy

I have 2 databases@ LIVE and RELEASE with the same tables in both - I have added
fields to a table in RELEASE and now I'm trying DTS to copy the data from LIVE to RELEASE. It keeps failing. Is it because of the different table structure. DEV and RELEASE are the same for the first 12 fields RELEASE has an additional 15 fields after this.

Check the tranformations tasks and make sure the columns are mapped correctly.

The DTS Wizard has only created one Copy SQL Server Objects Task - Have I used DTS correctly for what I'm trying to do?

DO NOT use the copy Server Objects for this situation, as this is only valid if the objects are the same (which they aren't).

You need to create a DTS package with two connections and with a "Transform Data Task".
