I have an nec 2000 ips with a neax 64 voice mail system. In place of an intercom system in our new children/preschool building we are placing phones in all the classrooms. I have about 34 DTR 1-1 model phones I would like to use. They have a speaker under the handset and directions for adjusting the speaker volume.
I need to know if this model phone can receive and broadcast pages if added to a page zone. I want to create a separate zone for that building in place of an intercom system.
I would rather use up my extra phones than buy $6000 worth of Dterm 8 button phones.

As far as I know the DTR 1HM-1 is a single line set only so it would not be able to receive a page. You will need a digital station for this purpose. I'll investigate more about the DTR1-1 to see if it is the same. Can you post the NEC stock number from the bottom of the set?

Stock number 780020

My sales rep said they would receive a page through the built in speaker if the phone was in a page zone. I am looking for my directions for adding a phone to the page zone through MOC to test it.

That may be my best solution....I thought I could turn it on under Class 1 Automatic Intercom...oh well, thanks...

just out of curiosity what is the speaker on the DTR 1-1 used for?
