DTPicker and other References across machines

Another question, I have a DTPICKER object included on one form, this appears because one of the "TOOLS -> REFERENCES" has been included to allow this object,

when I save the file and open it on another machine and run it, it does not know what that object is because the tools-references have not been included.

obviously you cannot get a user to go into VBA and add that reference just so the date picker works...

Is there a way to add reference to the file so which ever machine the file is on it will always work with the dtpicker?

thanks in advance,
- Damian.

Damian,

does the DTPicker reference have the word MISSING in front of it when you open TOOLS > REFERENCES on the second machine? All references you make in an Excel workbook are saved WITH that workbook. Only reason for a ref to stop working is that the object you're referring to hasn't been
a. installed (properly)
b. registered (properly)
on the second machine.

Cheers
Nikki

Nikki,

1) DTPicker is Date Time Picker, Active X - Version 6

2) without meaning to sound rude... DUH! your response was just stating the obvious of what I said!

OF course it is not registered properly or not installed or something on the other machine, THAT IS WHAT I WAS ASKING.
:)
HOW DOES ONE DO THIS IN CODE?!?

And also I know some objects (etc) are all included nicely with the file BUT if so then why does it not work on another machine? if it is right there... in the file... ??

?? :)

Dear Antequonopolistant

I'm sorry you thought I was being patronising. My apologies

Please bear with me - what I meant with my post was:

check your WIN directory on the pc.

If you do a search on tek-tips, you;'ll find this from billpower - some code to check/set missing references. It's based on Access but should be a breeze to adapt
