DTMF trough ATA?

Another BCM400 problem, seems to be the week of BCM troubles for me.

Two BCM400's connected via VoIP trunking. POTS calls come in system A and appear&ring on a digital set. This set is forwarded via VoIP to an ATA on System B. These ATA's are connected to a recorded scheduling machine with its' own CCR tree.

Here's the problem: I can call the POTS all day long and the call arrives at the scheduling machine. However, DTMF is not passing through, and when the machine prompts for a digit, it never hears the digit. Also, when dialing the extension number for the ATA from system B, the same trouble occurs.

Does the BCM400 send DTMF out through an ATA?

ATA's do not pass DTMF.
Does this machine need dialtone or does it have Dialogic cards that simulate M7310 phones?

These ATA's are connected to a BCM400, didn't know dilaogic was available. This scenerio used to work when system A was a MICS, they just recently replaced it with a 400. If ATA's don't pass dialtone, then how could it have worked to begin with?

you can use a VMI Voicemail Interface (NT8B89DA) instade of the ata, but I don't know if it's compatible with the bcm

There is a setting in CAPABILITES for the extn that is set up for ATA working to receive tones.
Just tick the box RECEIVE TONES and the ATA extn will hear the tone.

just a shot !also try changing long tones on the ATA.

It's only dialtone-VZ

Long tones works if your call is NOT coming throuh VoIP. I've found that the problem is solely related to the VoIP trunks. Seems that it just won't pass DTMF through an ATA. It will work on a trunk port using remote access packages, but not to an ATA. Must be in the digital to analog conversion somewhere?
