Need help. We have two 3300mx controllers in different locations connected via metro eth. they were both version 6.1. This week we upgrade system "a", whitch is the primary controller to 9.0. The next day the hard drive crashed, we replaced and restored to 9.0. System "b" makes calls across metro and route out on pri at sys. a. everything is working except DTMF from system b on outside calls. works fine to access vm. reset both systems. all phones are IP. system b still at 6.1. any ideas?

There are so many differences between rel 6 and rel 9 I wouldn't know where to start.

As a rule, both systems should be at the same Rel.

With respect to the hard drive failure. Did you do a "Full Install" as required or just the upgrade? Also, I find the older 40Meg harddrives are not up to the task of the new software.

So:

phone B --> System B --> metro --> System A --> pri --> PSTN
6.1 9.0

what is 'metro'?

So if a person on the PSTN calls into voicemail (which is on system B), it crashes both systems?

First off, I would check to see if this is a supported configuration. Work is done to ensure some level of compatibility between releases, but 6.1 -> 9.0 is a huge gap. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work. Suggest that you get system B up to 9.0 as well.

Thanks, we will upgrade the second system tonight. Had it planned for yesterday but failure at first location put that off. We did a full install using SI tool. hopefully will fix it tonight. If not i will check back.

Metro
A Metro Ethernet is a computer network that covers a metropolitan area and that is based on the Ethernet standard. ...

thanks

If the existing hard drive in the second system is 40Gb then I would replace it on spec.

If you don't have an 80Gb on hand then see the following FAQ
