Hello All,
One our customer has Avaya IP Office 500 V2 system Rel 9.0.900.995. [They had 30 DS + 30 T Series + 16 DS– 3 expansion units
One of the expansion unit failed and I have replaced with new expansion unit EXP MOD DS30B2 [default release 10.1.0.0 build 188].
Even though the extensions connected to this new expansion unit worked, I could not see this unit through “IP Office Manager” [showing the extensions as Module 0 instead of Module 1] and through the “System Status” application also.

Moreover, the digital phones connected to this expansion module have problems with DTMF signal also; i.e. when I call any external number, I can hear the AA/IVR message from the external system, but I cannot press any digits to select the options in the AA/IVR whereas extensions connected to other expansion units have no issue at all.

I have downgraded only the new expansion unit to 9.1.1200.213; after that I can see this expansion unit through “IP Office Manager” [as Module 1]; but, not able to see through “System Status” application.
But still when i dial any outside number/toll free/IVR from the digital phones connected on this particular expansion module we are not able to press any digits as the DTMF is not recorded.

So, you have Avaya IP Office 500 V2 system Rel 9.0.900.995

and

Expansion Module - on version 9.1.1200.213

I think the answer is make sure your software versions match then see if your issues magically go away.

B2 is only supported 9.1/10.0 service packs onwards.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thank you TheSmash and sizbut. We will upgrade the IPO to latest release.

Just FYI, even if the module is compatible, I had a situation of a customer with a V1 on 9.0, replacing with V2 on 9.1. After the expansion modules auto-upgraded, realized the Essential license was missing, put the V1 back in until the license could be sorted. With the expansion modules mis-matched, DTMF on digital phones prevented them from dialing into their own voicemail, accessing external automated attendants, and broke the conference bridges. Running an upgrade on the expansion modules to get them back to 9.0 solved those issues.
