We switched carries and now we are having issues with DTMF on the outgoing side (when calling a vendor and we have to enter their ext or our accountnumber it doesn't hear it). The carrier has said it has done all that it can and Mitel says there isnt anything on the phone switch they can change to fix it.

Anyone have any help? People at work are screaming at me about this and they dont except the anwser "the vendors cant do anything about this" its bout to drive me nuts

I take it it's a TDM trunk? What type of interface? T1? LS?

My guess is that it's a LS trunk, and the problem is most likely that the Tx gain is too low for that trunk. If you call another external number and press digits, do you hear them? If so, then the 3300 is sending out the digits, they just aren't at a high enough power level to trigger the detectors on the vendor's system.

If that is the case then you can try to manual set the trunk settings to act as a 'Long Loop', which will increase the Tx gain. A potential side effect of this however is echo.

What type of Mitel are you working with?

What type of trunks.

The issue is almost certainly with the duration of the tone being sent vs. the minimum tone length required.
