DTMF and MFC R2

Guys,

What is DTMF-R2? Is this a standard protocol or something that Ericsson implemented to sell their MD110s?

The question arises from the fact that some countries in LATAM only offer DTMF-R2? We install Mitel, Avaya, Cisco, and none of them accept that "protocol" DTMF-R2.

Is there any box that converts DTMF-R2 to SIP or ISDN??

Also, can any one post specs of the DTMF-R2 "Protocol", this way we can look for a box to convert this protocol.

in ITU terms, this protocol is known as Q.421.
In MD110 terms, this is CAS R2 Signalling, you need a TLU76/3 for this.
