DTMF activated but not working on outgoing call

Hello,

I am calling to a service number and when entering the digits for making the choice in the IVR, the answers are not received at all.

DTMF by standard should be activated, the service number is a general countrywide number, so I am at a loss at why it does not recognize these answers.

Suggestions?

dtmf is not activated or deactivated, but it can be passed or lost. please describe in more detail what extension type you're calling from and via what kind of a trunk.
 
some IVR/AA's are 'carrier' based and don't supervise until a choice is made. We hve this problem on PRI's a lot. I haven't done programming on an Avaya in a while--is there a 'cut through' option on the trunk group?
 
I've into this alot in the Nortel side of the house. In calling into a far end some systems do not provide answer supervision back to the carrier. In doing so it can confuse the equipment in opening the talk path and allowing DTMF. We theorized that the far end was trying to confuse there carrier on how and when billing could commence on an inbound call. In doing so we speculated they were trying to get unmetered time on inbound calls. This was calling into tollfree call center who gets charged by the inbound minute.

If dtmf not working from IP phones :
So you have to the following commands:
Warning : this command cut all current communication on related DS1. For example i consider one of your ds1 board
(pri access board) is 01a02
- busyout board 01a02
- change ds1 01a02
- in field Connect : you should have 'pbx', replace with 'network'. En type f3 (enter)
- once again change ds1 01a02
- replace 'network' by 'Pbx'
- release board 01a02.
if you want to test on one DS1, remove one trunk from your group and create a specific trunk gr with thi trunk and place a call with the tac code assigned for this new trunk grôup
